Slot
Overview
The Slot component serves as a placeholder element that allows you to dynamically insert new components within new forms. Namely, it is used to insert a new component slot into a specific location within a form and subsequently pass the defined results to new forms that will use this template.
This component does not provide general properties aside from the required Key configuration and additional properties. However, it does provide standard set of style properties and options.
How to use slots
The slot component has a unique purpose and usage compared to other available components. As such, it is essential to understand the associated workflow before integrating this component into your forms. The following steps illustrate the standard usage of the Slot component:
- Create a form and add a new Slot component to your form.
- Save your form by using the corresponding button on the interface. Thus, your form with a slot will be saved as a new template.
- Create a new form and add the saved template from the components list.
- Add components into the corresponding slot within the new form.
As a result, your new form will feature all elements from its parent along with your defined component in the designated slot. You can also switch to the Preview mode to see the rendered form with the results.
